Anyone who has organised a game knows the routine. Ring the leisure centre - no answer. Leave a voicemail. Try the school down the road; they’ll check and call you back. Someone digs up a number from a five-year-old webpage. By the time a slot is confirmed, half the group has dropped out.
Meanwhile, a pitch two miles away sat empty all evening. Nobody knew it was free, because there was no way to find out.
That’s the whole problem. Not a shortage of pitches - a shortage of information.

Fair commission, stated plainly
No setup fee, no monthly fee, no contract - we only earn when you do. List before 1 January 2027 and you're a founding venue: 0% commission on everything you book before 1 January 2028, then our standard 10%. Card processing is passed on at cost, never marked up.

Why we started Pitchr
It started with wanting one more game a week
We play 6-a-side in a league on a Tuesday, and we wanted a second night. That turned out to be the hard part.
Nothing told us which venues near us had a free hour, what they charged or how far away they were, so we worked through them one at a time. Online enquiry forms went unanswered. Calls went to voicemail, or to someone who couldn’t say whether the pitch was actually free.
We did find one in the end. We booked it over the phone - and were then told we had 24 hours to come in and pay in person, or lose the slot. They couldn’t take a card over the phone.
A week of chasing and a drive across town, to rent an empty pitch for an hour. And none of it was anyone’s fault: venues are busy running venues, not booking systems.
The handful of sites that did exist had very limited choice, and often confused matters by listing venues you couldn’t actually book - so you still ended up on the phone.
We wanted the version where you just look, compare and book. That’s Pitchr. Playing football regularly shouldn’t take this much organising.
